GENERAL STAGES OF TREATMENT

In order to make the right choice of cosmetic products best for our needs, which change with the change of seasons and as we age, it is vital to determine the proper skin type according to how oily and dry our skin may be.

Taking care of ourselves we should pay a special attention to the face treatment – as it is an open part of the body, thus most affected by such negative actors as the UV-radiation, wind, temperature and humidity overalls. Proper care allows slow down the process of skin ageing, protecting it from the negative external influence.

One's skin type changes constantly during the lifetime and depends on many factors – age, climate, work conditions, lifestyle and the general state of one's health.

Generally we speak of normal, dry, oily and combination skin.

NORMAL SKIN is rare thing to come across. It is characteristic, especially at a young age, of being firmness, smooth, free of such defects as large pores, and superpose blood vessels and blackheads, and having a clear mat tone. Weather conditions have no influence on such skin. It does preserve its natural attraction for long. With age developing a tendency of becoming dry.
Recommendations for treatment. Normal skin is mainly in need of a supportive care: cleansing soap-free products for preventing the appearance of certain dry spots; light moisturizing creams with a low maintenance of oily substances.

DRY SKIN looks wonderful in the younger years. Its exceptional tenderness, finesse and silkiness, unfortunately, are never long-lasting. The lack of natural moisture and skin fat result in the loss of elasticity and firmness, leading to a quick aging along with numerous troubles. Such type of skin is usually sensitive to any irritation and characteristic of being rough textured and flaky, red on the cheeks and chin.

Recommendations for treatment.

Light-textured cleansing products; intensive moisturizing and nourishing of skin with fertile nourishing creams, rich with well-balanced fat and hydrating substances; special products for the prevention of aging.

OILY SKIN also happens to be a rather problematic skin type. Large pores, unpleasant oily shine especially in the T-zone (across the forehead down the nose and including the chin) as a result of an excessive activity of the endocrine glands, the nervous system, the alimentary canal, etc. Excessive fat clogs the pores and leads to infection in the form of white heads, blackheads and pimples. Usually they appear in one's teens, which is explained by changes in the hormone background. On reaching the age of 25, these problems usually disappear. However, there are cases when the skin remains too oily with people over 30. It is mostly connected to the breach in the hormone balance and the hereditary hyper-secretion of the sebaceous glands. Oily skin, as a rule, experiences an increased sensitivity and is prone to irritations. However, this type of skin is not susceptible to wrinkles and tends to remain spring.

Recommendations for treatment. Thorough and profound cleansing of the skin and pores; light-textured moisturizing creams and gels.

COMBINATION SKIN happens to be the most common skin type. Teenagers, young and middle-aged people tend to have oily skin, especially in the T-zone (across the forehead down the nose and including the chin), while on the temples, around the eyes and on the cheeks the skin is dry or normal. This type of skin requests different kinds of treatment according to different face areas. In order to determine your skin type you just have to blot the face with a tissue 2 hours after having it cleaned. An oily imprint on the tissue means that in that particular area your skin is oily, while the rest of it is dry or normal.

In order to keep your skin in a good form regardless of your age and skin type, it has to be treated daily, consistently and in accordance with requirements. Which means that the chosen products should include four stages:

CLEANSING
HYDRATING
NOURISHING
PROTECTION FROM EARLY AGEING

CLEANSING

Cleansing is the main skin treatment. Just a few minutes spent in the morning and in the evening will make your skin fresher, more tender and clean. With all the other skin care products being more efficient when applied to the well-cleaned skin. The skin cleansing is vital for its normal functioning.

The skin of any type needs to be cleaned of impurities, dust, make-up, dead cells, harmful bacteria and excessive fat it has been affected with during the day. All of these poison the skin and trouble it breathing. So even the woman not accustomed to using make-up should cleanse her skin daily, understanding – in order to be beautiful, the skin should definitely be clean.

Cleansing the skin, it is highly unfavorable to use water and soap. The latter skims the skin and, along with rough chlorinated water, dehydrates it – producing the feeling of tightness.

It is much more preferable to cleanse the skin with special gels, balms, tonics, lotions and face milk. None of which ruin the protective functions of the corneous layer of the skin. For getting rid of the dead cells that make the face grey in colour, additional cleansing with scrubs and peelings is recommended.

Skin should be cleansed twice a day – in the morning and in the evening.

In the morning – in order to cleanse the skin of toxins, slugs and free radicals, which it is getting rid of during the night – the period of cells' maximum activity.

In the evening – in order to cleanse the skin of make-up and impurities, impossible to avoid in the daytime.

In order to keep the skin in a good shape, it is vital to take care of it, taking into consideration the individual characteristics. Every skin type is to be cleansed with the appropriate products. The cleansing of dry skin should be performed with especially light-textured products – in order to avoid its skimming and not to offend its natural pH.

HYDRATING

Hydrating is a key stage in every skin type's care regardless of the age. It is the basis of the skin's youth. Well-moisturized skin is free of wrinkles, has a healthy colour, and is smooth and spring. The dehydrating of the skin might be caused by the climate, temperature, unhealthy lifestyle and aging. Hydrating skin care products keep back the inevitable process of the water loss, supporting the skin with the perfect amount of moisture and keeping it smooth, spring and velvety.

NOURISHING

Nourishing is a process of filling in the skin with components, necessary for its normal operation: fat, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and micro-elements. The main impact of the nourishing creams lies in the regeneration of the natural protection, and nourishing the skin with the nutritive components and moisture. The nourishing products, mainly, are meant for dry and dull skin, as well as the normal one at the first signs of aridity.

PROTECTION FROM EARLY AGEING

Protection is the preservation of skin from aggressive external factors thanks to the special active components – antioxidants, vitamins, UV-filters. Considerable stresses, illness and dirty environment do affect the skin condition a lot. Protection is vital for any type of skin in order to provide it with intensive regeneration, slowing down early ageing and keeping up the natural level of protection.
